Peter: I know it's hard for you to have to move. I'm sure Mattie had his reasons for disappearing, though, reasons he couldn't tell you. And it's not like living with Alfred will be bad. In fact, it could be fun! You know Alfred, and I'm sure he will treat you well.

…—I know, i know, but…

…I didn’t…I didn’t get to—to say goodbye, and…

[A box is sitting on the front porch, 'Pekka' written once again on the top in Tino's loopy handwriting. Inside is a hand-knitted sweater, and a note, that reads: 'Pekka, I know you're having a hard time being away from Mattie, so I thought I'd send you a sweater. When you wear it, think of me hugging you and remember that I'll always, always love you. Love, Isä.']

There's a box sitting right outside the door with 'Pekka' written on it in Tino's loopy handwriting. Inside, there are several different types of cookies, as well as some korvapuusti. A note rests on the top of the bundle that reads, 'Hei, sweetie! Here are those sweets that I promised! Don't forget to share with Pappa, okei? I love you. Tell Pappa that I love him too, please. Love, Isä.'
[—when he opens the door, to let the dogs out, he finds the package. He almost trips over it, but catches himself before picking it up]
…!!

[…—oh! It’s from Isä.

….isä.]
[he reads the card aloud, carefully, before a small smile spreads across his face.]
….—okay, Isä. I promise I’ll share with Pappa, and I’ll tell him that you miss him.
..
I miss you too. But I promise, I’m being strong.

All living things die eventually. Whether it's ten years, a hundred, or a thousand, everyone and everything eventually meets the same end. Even if they age and move on, it wouldn't be so bad if they took care to remember all the good times they shared.

…Alfred, and Mattie, they—
They both say that adopting human children is an awful idea. ‘cause—they have a sister, who adopted…who adopted two human babies. And they said it was a bad idea. That it would hurt her.
I guess it just depends on the person, though. I’m little so I don’t understand it all.

If they adopted, then?
…
They’d just get hurt. Because human children grow faster, and they’d have to watch them die..
I don’t think it’s a good idea. To—adopt, adopt human children. It would only hurt them. That’s what I’ve learnt, that’s what the big ones say.
